Hello from Indonesia

Hello, I’m Sarwo

I want to use Proxidize to set proxy connection in my multiple android emulators.

I’m here to learn to setup a mobile proxy server at my home which I can access it while I’m abroad.

Hello Sarwo! :waving_hand: That’s a great goal, Proxidize is perfect for creating your own mobile proxy server that you can access remotely.

You’ll be able to set it up at home using our hardware and software so each modem or device becomes its own mobile proxy. Once it’s configured, you can connect to your proxies from anywhere in the world, including your Android emulators, just by using the assigned IP and port.

Are you going to use Linux with USB modems or and Android phone to create the proxies?

what is the advantage by using Linux and usb modem vs android phone?

Great question! :waving_hand:

Both USB modems and Android phones can be used to create mobile proxies with Proxidize, but each has its own advantages depending on your setup and needs.

  • :desktop_computer: Using Linux with USB modems

    • Provides higher stability and lower resource usage, especially when running multiple modems on a single server.
    • Easier to automate management tasks (like IP rotation or monitoring) using Linux scripts and cron jobs.
    • Typically more suitable for large-scale or permanent deployments, since modems are designed for continuous operation and can be easily replaced or expanded.
  • :mobile_phone: Using Android phones

    • Offers greater flexibility, you can use devices you already own, and it’s easy to set up without additional hardware.
    • Phones often connect to more cell towers and may offer better signal reception in some areas.
    • Ideal for small setups or testing, especially when portability is a priority.

In summary, if you need scalability, automation, and long-term reliability, Linux with USB modems is the better choice. If you prefer simplicity and flexibility, Android phones work perfectly fine.
